Everyday Breakfast Oatmeal

This everyday breakfast oatmeal recipe is staple in my house for over 10 years.

Oatmeal is rich in complex carbohydrates and fiber which make you feel fuller for longer.Oatmeal have low glycemic index so, it doesn’t spike your blood sugar levels. Adding nuts and seeds add protein and healthy fats. It’s an excellent choice to start your day with this nutritious breakfast.

Ingredients:

  • old fashioned oatmeal
  • water
  • soaked nut and seeds
  • nut/seed butter
  • fruits of choice
  • Choice of milk(optional)

Procedure:

  • In a small pan add water or choice of milk along with 1/2 cup oatmeal.
  • Bring this to boil and reduce the heat to medium and simmer for 2 minutes stirring occasionally.
  • Allow it to rest for few minutes until the oats absorb all the liquids.
  • Add toppings of your choice and enjoy!
