Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup old-fashioned oatmeal
  • 1 cup water
  • 2โ€“3 tbsp soaked nuts and seeds (e.g., almonds, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, chia seeds)
  • 1 tbsp nut or seed butter (almond, peanut, or sunflower seed butter)
  • 1/2 to 1 cup fresh fruits (such as banana slices, berries, or apple)
  • 1/4 cup milk (optional, for extra creaminess)

Procedure:

  • Add 1 cup of water to a pot and bring it to a boil.
  • Stir in the old-fashioned oatmeal and reduce the heat to medium-low.
  • Cook for about 5โ€“7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oats are soft and have absorbed most of the water.
  • Turn off the heat and let the oatmeal sit for a minute to thicken.
  • Transfer the oatmeal to a bowl.
  • Add the soaked nuts and seeds on top.
  • Stir in or drizzle your choice of nut or seed butter for creaminess.
  • Add fresh fruits of your choice for natural sweetness and flavor.
  • If desired, pour a little milk over the top for extra creaminess.
  • Mix everything together and enjoy warm.
